At 2012 edition of Techtextil North America (April 24-26, 2012) in Atlanta (GA), ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, has organized a Meeting Point where some Italian machinery manufacturers involved in the production of machines for technical textiles will show their innovative solutions. These companies are: Cormatex Srl, Dell'Orco & Villani Srl, Loptex Italia Srl, Ratti Luino Srl, and Saspe Srl.

In spite of an increase in production for 2011 by Italian textile machinery manufacturers, forecasts remain cautious for the current year. On Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Toronto Board of Trade, The Consul General of Italy, Gianni Bardini, and the Toronto office of the Italian Trade Commission, hosted a cocktail reception to welcome the new Italian Trade Commissioner in Canda, Ascal Bova and to officially launch the Italian Trade Commission's newest book in the series The Italian Edge entitled Technology for Sustainability.

According to Italy's federation of Italian machinery manufacturers' associations, FEDERMACCHINE, Italy's provision to US manufacturers of machinery and technology increased 32.8% for the first quarter of 2011.

Exports of Italian machinery have risen 37% during the first quarter of 2011, compared with the same period last year, according to the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT).

During the first quarter of 2011, Italy’s textile machinery sector continued on its positive trend started the previous year. The orders index for the period ranging from January to March reached 164.6 points, marking a 12% growth rate over the previous quarter, and a rise of 42% over the same 2010 quarter period.

Preliminary 2010 data drawn up by ACIMIT (the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) show a decisive recovery under way for Italy’s textile machinery sector, in the wake of a 2009 which had been marked by a conspicuous drop in production. In terms of value, Italy’s textile machinery production recorded an 18% increase with respect to 2009, from 1.9 to 2.3 billion Euros. Exports drew a similarly favourable increase, at +19%, reaching a value of just under 1.8 billion Euros.
