34.BI-MU: Satisfactory Collection Of Applications From Exhibitors The Event Will Take Place At Fieramilano Rho October 9-12 2024

The collection of applications to exhibit at the 34th edition of BI-MU is going on apace. The biennial international exhibition of machine tools, robots, automation, digital and additive manufacturing, auxiliary and enabling technologies will be held at fieramilano Rho from 9 to 12 October 2024.

Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers' association, and organized by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, in the wake of the successful edition of 2022, 34.BI-MU presents its proposal by re-launching the format that offers -  around machine tools and production systems, the “true heart” of the event -  8 exhibition themes to represent  “all faces of innovation”, as stated in the slogan accompanying the promotion of the event.

Robotheart will be dedicated to robotics, automation, related technologies, systems and artificial intelligence for all manufacturing sectors; piùAdditive will be focused on machines, materials and software for production using additive technologies; BI-MU Digital will be centred on software, technologies for connectivity and data management, cybersecurity and sensors; Metrology and Testing will propose measuring instruments, testing machines, computer vision and quality control; Power4machines will present  mechatronic solutions, systems and components for power transmission; Heat and Surface Treatments will show  machines, plants and systems for surface and heat treatments; The Composites, the great novelty of this edition, will spotlight manufacturers of composites and machines for processing them; Consulting and Certification will offer consulting services for digitalisation, cybersecurity, sustainability and environment and financial services. These are the 8 themes offered to the visitors that will attend 34.BI-MU.

To enhance the value and innovation content of the trade show and of the cultural and thematic insights presented to the exhibition operators, alongside EFIM, there will be several representative organisations involved as sponsors: in addition to UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE and Fondazione UCIMU for the event as a whole, SIRI, the Italian Robotics and Automation Association for RobotHeart; AITA-ITALIAN ASSOCIATION OF ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGIES for piùAdditive; ASSOCOMPOSITI, Italian Industry Association for Composite Materials, the reference association for the sector in Italy, for The Composites.

Alfredo Mariotti, general manager of UCIMU asserted: “The strength of BI-MU, which has already largely surpassed 60 years of history, lies in being able to update its proposal without misrepresenting its own essence. Created as an exhibition dedicated to machine tools, it has evolved over the years, becoming the leading event in Italy, and one of the most important worldwide, for production systems, automation, robotics and digital manufacturing”.

“The involvement of organizations, representing sectors that are adjacent to the core of the exhibition, is conceived to better structure the product offering of technology and content proposed by the trade show. In this connection – added Alfredo Mariotti – we are very pleased that, after SIRI and AITA, ASSOCOMPOSITI has also become part of our project by sponsoring The Composites, dedicated to manufacturers of composite materials and manufacturers of machines and plants for processing them. At the exhibition, these manufacturers will be able to come into contact with visitors also coming from the automotive, aerospace ed energy sectors, in which these types of materials find a wide application today, obviously in addition to metal and additive powders”.

The data concerning the past edition of BI-MU (2022) have confirmed the attractiveness of the event visited by 50,000 operators; 81% of visitors said that have been involved in purchasing decisions and 95% stated that they will also visit the edition number 34 of BI-MU.

Metal cutting machine tools have been of interest to 78% of visitors; the digital world to 52%; automation and mechatronics to 46%; robotics to 45%; tools to 40%; metrology and quality control to 35%; subcontracting and services for the industry to 29%; metal forming machine tools to 28%, additive manufacturing to 26%; welding, surface finishes and treatments to 19% of the attendees.

The product offering of the exhibition will be complemented by cultural, thematic insights, as usual developed through a rich programme of meetings, arranged by organisers, partners and exhibitors and hosted in the BI-MUpiù arena.

Moreover, an unprecedented project will be dedicated to Education and Work, with the aim of bringing the world of education closer to enterprises, also during the event, and of encouraging the contact between professionals looking for new job opportunities and companies of the sector, which strongly need to rely on skilled, motivated staff, trained to operate in the factories of the future.
