#7 - Fall 2014
Dear readers,

2014 is definitely the year of major structural reforms in Mexico and increasing integration
energy and manufacturing in North America.

Canada has increased crude oil exports and the state of Alberta has become a major supplier
of oil to the United States of America.

The Mexican president has promoted an ambitious program of 11 major structural reforms to make
the economy more internationally competitive. Energy reform ends the era of the monopoly of
state and opens up exciting prospects for private initiative in upstream and downstream activities.
Mexico and the United States are building large energy transportation pipelines to bring natural gas
from the giant Texas fields to the emerging industrial districts of the "Bajio." Access to energy at prices
competitive prices generates major capex investment flows in the chemical, steel, and steel sectors,
automotive, plastics, and aerospace.

The recent ICE-Confindustria cross-sector mission to Mexico highlighted the interest of large groups in
local industrialists to acquire Italian technologies in the oil and gas sectors.

In the first 8 months of 2014, we recorded strong interest from domestic business operators in the
North America. For 2015, we expect an increase in our promotional activities aimed at helping
italian companies in the sector.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our readers for their continued interest in the North -
america and for the suggestions that stimulate us to constantly improve our editorial product.
We invite you to visit the Machines Italia site, and to register your company in the site's database, to
be accessible and contactable by more than 300,000 foreign companies.

Happy reading,

Salvatore Parano
Director, ICE-Agency Mexico
