Launch of McKinsey’s North American Digital Capability Center at DMDII of Chicago Adds Opportunities for Italian Companies’ Engagement in Industry 4.0 both at Home and Abroad

McKinsey & Company and the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII), a UI LABS collaboration, announced on June 1, 2017, the launch of the North American Digital Capability Center (DCC) – a unique digital manufacturing learning center offering companies access to next generation Industry 4.0 technology to help them advance their operations, design and productivity. The US Chicago center joins four other international  McKinsey DCCs locations, one of which is already in Venice, Italy.

For Italian companies, in particular those with a US presence, opportunities to take advantage of next generation technologies at DMDII are already in place thanks to an agreement between the Institute and the Italian Trade Agency’s Chicago Office. Per the agreement, the Agency promotes, encourages and supports Italian US-based subsidiaries, offering them a number of complimentary DMDII corporate memberships. The Agency’s and now McKinsey & Company’s partnership with DMDII will continue to strengthen and expand Industry 4.0 opportunities for Italian companies in Italy as well as for those with a physical presence in the US.
