Acimga – the Italian manufacturers association of machinery for the graphic, converting and paper industry – and Assocomaplast – the Italian plastics and rubber processing machinery and molds manufacturers Association – have reached an operational agreement which includes sharing their premises as well as some of the services such as their technical and regulatory offices, the economic studies departments and IT management services.

As of the first of June, 2014, Acimga moved its operational offices to share those of Assocomaplast and now they are fully operational! Over this medium term, the partnership which will bring joint promotion opportunities on foreign markets.

The technologies represented by the two associations share increasingly similar target markets and international prospects. This kind of agreement is further in line with the aggregation encouraged by Confindustria and discussed at the last Extraordinary Assembly on June 19.

“We have been witnessing the synergy of the package printing and plastics industry in terms of joint exhibitions and promotional activities on foreign markets for a long time” says Marco Calcagni, president of Acimga and sales and marketing director at Omet. “The agreement was not just made to optimize our operational organization and costs, but also to improve technology supply dynamics on national and international markets. Each association will still maintain its own operational structure led by the respective Boards of Directors and Presidents, so as to ensure the necessary representativeness for graphics, package printing and converting companies which do not work with plastic materials”.

“At a time when we call on institutions to rationalize their organizations, including through synergic actions – emphasizes Giorgio Colombo, president of Assocomaplast and owner of Icma San Giorgio – it seemed only natural to our association’s Board of Directors, Council and myself to welcome Acimga into our offices and share some of the services we have been offering our members for years. Aside from the purely organizational and logistic aspect, there is also a good degree of complementarity between the industries represented by the two associations, which enables to put in place common activities on a significant number of foreign markets”.
