So far this year, Italian investments in the US have been numerous and have been all over the map. In the second quarter of 2015, imports of machinery and equipment, (15 Machines Italia sectors), from Italy, increased 21%, from $155 million to $187 million (CAD). Italy is the fifth largest supplier of industrial technology to Canada with a market share of 3.1%, (+5.5%). Topping the Italian technology exports to Canada are metalworking machinery and tools, food processing machinery and equipment, packaging machines, plastics and rubber processing machines.
