Meccanica Generale was founded in 1964 as a small mouldmaking company. In 1983 the company made its first investments in 3D/CAM/CNC equipment and software for mould design and manufacture.
The second step was turning from advanced mouldmaker to product developer.
Since 2000 Meccanica Generale is an Innovation Booster, with focus and investment on innovation and technology.

Meccanotecnica Riesi s.r.l. produces high precision mechanical components and spare parts for use in medium and large industries. The company was founded in 1992 and operates internationally and nationally.

The factory, built on 6,691 m2 area of which 1,000 m2 are covered, is located near the south Riesi exit on the Caltanissetta-Gela motorway. The location is among the most important industrial centres in Sicily, where such companies as Agip of Gela, Italkali, Esso, Enichem, ST Microelectronics of Catania, INFN LNS, Alelco and Polimeri of Siracusa and Ragusa are located. The factory is equipped with modern machines, workcentres having 5 axles and furnaces for heat treatments; the components are manufactured according to specifications and drawings. The production system undergoes quality controls,so the materials are certified and all tests of resilience, toughness, roughness and ultrasons control test. The 22 workshop units have a high level of specialization and years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering with professional qualifications and training abroad.

MECCANOTECNICA RIESI S.r.l has obtained the Quality System Certification UNI EN ISO 9001: 2000 from DNV. We have worked with Research Institutes since the beginning and we have been INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Phisics) partners in several important projects, such as:

AUGER PROJECT:

We have machined 22 astronomic paraboloids whose peculiarity consisted in creating 440 holes, on a surface of less than 1 m2 of 40 mm in diameter, and 1800 holes of 3.2 mm diameter with extremely requirements for the finishing of the holes, and all having an axis facing the focus point of the parabola. Those paraboloids has been installed in Auger Observatory in Argentina and they are part of a Fluorescence telescope which captures cosmic particles and studies their mysterious origin.

PARTICLES ACCELERATOR PROTOTYPE:

We have machined the main part of the mechanical components for the prototype of a particles accelerator which has been employed in medicine. The accelerator is part of a experimental project for the treatment of some kind of tumours with the employ of adrotherapy a new kind of radiotherapy.

We are also involved with the Italian Vulcanology Institute. We machined the Obs/h a prototype instrumentation to study and prevent tsunamis in the Mediterranean sea.

MICROM Srl develops and manufactures thermoplastic molds for injection, and executes mass productions.

MVM Srl has been producing knife grinders for straight and circular blades of every dimension for more than 50 years.

Our knife grinders are used by a variety of customers from end users, sharpening services, blade manufacturers to surface grinders.

MVM Srl, together with two other German companies, is the only company that builds machines for the production or sharpening of every dimension of blades.

Our grinders can be supplied in standard or custom versions which are compatible with the experience of MVM in the use of frontal wheels. We can design and manufacture special clamping systems or specialty pieces by customer request.

With regards to technical specifications: the power range is from to 2 HP to 150 HP, the diameter of the grinding wheel is from 127 mm to 450mm, the width of the magnetic chuck is from 80mm to 600mm. The equipment can run with manual, pneumatic or hydraulic systems. MVM is able to offer the highest quality machines at competitive prices.

MVM is also a leader in the production of small knife grinders. For grinding plastic knives, we offer the ZX1000/1230 with a grinding motor of 3 HP or the PX1000/1350 with grinding motor of 5 HP.

Injection and compression moulds.

OCF was established in 1980 in Castiglione Olona ( Varese ), the company is specialized in designs and manufacture dies and calibrator system to extrude profiles in thermoplastic materials such as : PVC - Soft PVC - Foam PVC - ABS - PS - PMMA - PC - NORYL.

The company has always been able to provide customers with professional competence and quality products that are thoroughly researched so as to resolve profile extrusion difficulties and reduce them to the minimum. OCF combines tried and tested experience with competent technical assistance that allows customers to count on an optimum service plus prompt and decisive technical interventions.

The die plates and the parts that connect to the extruder feature channelling systems able to balance and distribute the flows in an even way. This ensures that high and continuous production rates are achieved.

The gauging equipment and capillary cooling system applied to the main gauges, along with modular immersion or vacuum type tanks complete with diaphragms allow high production rates to be obtained without impairing the quality of the profiles.

The department where the extruded product Is inspected and subjected to final tests is outfitted with 8 extrusion lines able to comply with all production requirements and satisfy the specific needs of customers who can personally verify the functionality of the equipment and quality of the profiles during the actual tests or pre-sampling phases.
