Dear Readers,
As we move into a pivotal year for North American manufacturing, innovation, and international collaboration, we are pleased to welcome you to this new edition of the Machines Italia e‑newsletter. Across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Italian technology continues to strengthen its presence, deepen partnerships, and contribute to the evolution of key industrial ecosystems.
From the United States, as the recently appointed Trade Commissioner in Chicago, I want to welcome you to this edition of our newsletter, which highlights the growing synergies between Italy and the North American manufacturing landscape. Recent developments—from Italy’s expanding footprint in Georgia’s industrial sector to the launch of a new national Observatory dedicated to reinforcing global manufacturing competitiveness—underscore Italy’s commitment to supporting North American industry with advanced, sustainable, and future‑ready solutions.
We are also delighted to confirm that Italian Night @ IMTS 2026 is officially on the calendar, poised once again to be one of the most anticipated networking events of the show.
Our presence in the U.S. continues to grow through a robust calendar of events where Machines Italia will serve as exhibitor, partner, or sponsor. These include Coverings 2026, the Robotics Summit & Expo 2026, Automate 2026, and of course IMTS 2026. Each of these platforms offers unique opportunities for Italian companies to connect with North American buyers, integrators, and technology leaders.
Across Canada, Italian innovation is equally active. A strong North American delegation is preparing for BBTech 2026, while Italian technologies for the mining sector will be showcased at PDAC 2026, one of the world’s premier events for mineral exploration. Additional initiatives—from HVACR technologies to woodworking machinery—highlight the resilience and adaptability of Italian manufacturers as they return to major Canadian trade fairs with renewed momentum.
In Mexico, the industrial landscape is undergoing profound transformation. As the country approaches the T‑MEC review in 2026 and navigates the implications of Section 232 tariffs, Italy continues to consolidate its strategic presence in the Northeast region, supporting local supply chains and contributing to Mexico’s growing leadership in global exports. These developments reaffirm the importance of Mexico as a dynamic hub for automotive, manufacturing, and advanced industrial technologies.
Across North America, one theme is clear: Italian innovation remains a trusted partner for companies seeking excellence, reliability, and competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving global market. Through Machines Italia, we are committed to supporting this dialogue—connecting stakeholders, sharing insights, and promoting the best of Italian know‑how.
I personally thank you for your continued engagement and invite you to explore the articles and events featured in this issue. Together, we look forward to another year of collaboration, growth, and shared success.
Warm regards,
Paola De Faveri
Italian Trade Commissioner Chicago
