Coahuila has positioned itself as the main engine of the automotive industry in Mexico, surpassing other states in the country in terms of both vehicle and auto parts production.
According to official data, the state manufactures 20% of the vehicles produced nationwide, consolidating its automotive cluster thanks to decades of investment and development.
In addition, according to the National Auto Parts Industry, Coahuila accounted for 14.9% of total auto parts production in Mexico during the first five months of the year, representing a figure in excess of 7.9 billion dollars.
The northern region of the country, where Coahuila is located, accounted for the largest share of auto parts production (43.3%), followed by the Bajío region (36.1%) and the central region (15.5%). However, it is the state of Coahuila that has stood out for its sustained growth and its capacity to attract investment from large companies in the sector.
This leadership is largely due to the industrial vocation that has characterized Coahuila for generations, as well as to the public policies implemented to promote investment and economic development.
