Cari Lettori,
It is with immense pleasure that I would like to introduce myself as the new Italian Trade Commissioner for the Canadian network of offices, encompassing Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. I am Carlo Angelo Bocchi, and I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter, bringing with me a wealth of experience from various roles within the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).
My journey as a Trade Commissioner has taken me through several offices across ASIA (Tokyo, HKSAR and Manila) and the USA network (including Miami, Houston, Los Angeles) where I understood invaluable insights into international trade dynamics and fostered strong relationships. Furthermore, I had the privilege of serving as the Acting Director of the capital goods and industrial technology division at ITA HQ in Rome and it was during this time that I first became involved with Machines Italia, a project that has since become a cornerstone of our efforts to promote Italian industrial excellence in North America.
To now be at the helm of Machines Italia Canada, a project with a proud 20-year history, is truly an honor and I am very convinced that we can do branding and reputation of the Italian Advanced Machinery exactly as happened in other sectors . Machines Italia in Canada serves as an umbrella for all the activities that ITA organizes, showcasing the ingenuity and innovation of Italian manufacturing with the strong mission is to connect Canadian businesses with cutting-edge Italian technology, fostering collaboration and driving mutual growth.
Over the past four months, the Machines Italia team has been incredibly active, participating in numerous trade shows both in Italy and North America. These events have provided us with invaluable opportunities to engage with industry leaders, host delegations, and set up information desks to assist local companies.
Beyond resilience and sustainability, success in today's rapidly changing industrial environment demands a forward-looking approach, integrating new technologies. Whether it's Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), robotics, automation, or other emerging advancements, staying at the forefront of technological progress is paramount.
Canadian buyers are always purchasing more in Canada and the recent events we attended we found italian companies ready to serve this market directly in Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver, together with the traditional triangulations.
Machines Italia will be used continuing to match Italian technological prowess and the needs of Canadian manufacturers. Our goal is to bring more Italian companies directly into the market because we are confident that the Italian advanced solutions will empower Canadian businesses to thrive in this dynamic era of smart manufacturing. Give us some time….but we are here to help your journey towards greater productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.
I wish you a pleasant reading of this newsletter, and I look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for collaboration and innovation.
Saluti,
Carlo Angelo Bocchi
Italian Trade Commissioner in Canada
