Industrial Parks in Guanajuato attract 162 investment projects

The industrial parks within the state of Guanajuato have allowed the attraction of 162 investment projects, so far in the current state administration (September 2018 to date), representing a capital of more than 9,000 million dollars and the generation of more than 64,700 direct jobs.

In the State of Guanajuato, located in the western part of the country, there are 6,800 hectares destined to productive activities in 46 parks distributed in 17 municipalities of Guanajuato, among these: Celaya, Irapuato, Leon, Salamanca, Salvatierra, San Jose de Iturbide, San Miguel de Allende, Silao, to mention a few.

Among the most important investment projects are those of the following companies: Ford, Michelin, Toyota, Continental, Honda, Mazda, Nestlé-Purina, Volkswagen, ZKW, Bosch, Sailun Tire, Forvia-Hella, MD Elektronic, and Kirchhoff, among others.

Thanks to this, the diversification and consolidation of the sectors continues:

  • New technologies

  • Plastics

  • Metal-mechanics

  • Services

  • Agri-food

  • Leather-footwear

  • Household appliances

  • Textile-clothing

  • General Industry

  • Construction

  • Ceramics and materials

  • Pharmaceutical

  • Cosmetics

“The State Government aims to generate conditions for the development of new investment projects through the diversification of the Guanajuato economy by bringing companies to the entire Guanajuato territory,” said the SDES in a statement.

The SDES added that by detonating new poles, the local economy is strengthened by generating greater demand for services that contribute to the promotion of new economic vocations that are used by the inhabitants of the regions with industrial potential in Guanajuato.
