In 2025, imports of packaging machinery into Mexico rose by 9.19% year-over-year, reaching a total value of 914 million euros, according to data from Trade Data Monitor. Italy consolidated its position as the second-largest supplier to the country, with exports totaling 263 million euros (+7.44%) and a market share of 28.84%, surpassed only by Germany (32.62%) and ahead of the United States (12.02%) and Spain (7.53%). Furthermore, in the first quarter of 2026, purchases of Italian technology continued to show strong growth, rising by 51.44%.
The significance of Italian industry was also clearly evident at Expo Pack 2026, Latin America’s leading trade show for processing and packaging technologies dedicated to the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics sectors. At the event, which featured approximately 700 exhibitors across 20,000 square meters, the ICE Agency and Ucima coordinated an institutional pavilion covering approximately 220 square meters. This showcase featured 23 specialized brands, promoting the value of “Made in Italy” and laying the groundwork for new commercial agreements.
These figures and promotional successes reinforce the solid reputation for innovation, reliability, and high technological standards associated with Italian solutions, which continue to represent a key strategic partner for the growth of packaging and manufacturing in the Mexican market.
