The strong position of the Italian industry was clearly demonstrated following the conclusion of Expo Pack 2026 in Mexico, considered the leading event in Latin America for processing and packaging technologies aimed at the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, and beverage sectors.
The event brought together nearly 700 exhibitors over an area of 20,000 square meters, a space where the ICE Agency and Ucima promoted an institutional pavilion of about 220 square meters. This participation, which grouped together 23 specialized brands, boosted the presence of the "Made in Italy" hallmark and generated new business prospects.
In the commercial sphere, data from Trade Data Monitor indicate that imports of packaging machinery in Mexico reached 914 million euros in 2025, registering an annual increase of 9.19%. With a flow of 263 million euros (+7.44%) and a market share of 28.84%, Italy solidified its second-place position among the country's suppliers, behind only Germany, which led with 32.62%. For their part, the United States (12.02%) and Spain (7.53%) took third and fourth place, respectively. Additionally, during the first quarter of 2026, acquisitions from Italy maintained an upward trend with a rebound of 51.44%.
These statistical results ratify the reputation for innovation, reliability, and technological quality enjoyed by Italian solutions among local companies, reaffirming Italy's role as a key strategic ally for the development of packaging and manufacturing in the Mexican market.
