Italy’s Manufacturing Confidence Rises to 3-Month High

Italy’s manufacturing confidence rose in May 2025, hitting its highest level since February. According to ISTAT (Italy’s national statistics agency), companies are showing growing optimism about production, new orders, and the overall economic outlook.

The confidence index increased to 86.5, slightly above expectations, signaling that businesses are feeling more stable and hopeful about the near future.

One exception was hiring: expectations around employment dipped slightly, showing that caution remains in workforce planning.

Still, the latest data suggests that Italy’s manufacturing sector is gaining momentum — a positive sign for the broader economy.
