The MT-TPS Touch Probe Shield is a pneumatically operated protective de- vice that can be mounted directly on the turret. The shields protect the touch probe, opening and retracting only dur- ing the measurement phase, thus keep- ing interference problems in the machine
to a minimum. The air flow is also used to blow away any impurities present on the workpiece, thus allowing for maximum measurement accuracy.

ITALCARRELLI DELIVERS AUTONOMOUS MATERIAL HANDLING TO NORTH AMERICA
Italcarrelli SpA designs and builds special transporters and equipment for the storage and handling of goods. Its tailor-made machines are customized according to each customer’s need, and it cooperates all over the world for leading manufacturing companies, including in North America. As an example, Italcarrelli delivered a battery-powered, self-propelled transporter (SPT) for a North American company operating in the metallurgy sector. The system operates automatically to deliver up to 120-ton loads as long as 14 meters in a new heat treatment facility. The system needed to be autonomous because of the danger of heat to human operators. This platform transporter is composed of two modular platforms coupled with mechanical joints, both with a lithium battery so that each module can also operate independently; each one is equipped with a load capacity of 60 tons.
