Sirmax Group Opens $30M Plastics Recycling Plant In Anderson

A subsidiary of Italy-based Sirmax Group said its new plastics recycling facility in Anderson is now operational. SER North America said it plans to bring total employment at the $30 million plant to 40 by the end of the year. Plans for the 124,000-square-foot facility were first announced in July 2019. The company said it has already hired 25 employees with the goal of adding 15 more by the end of the year. The facility produces recycled polypropylene out of post-industrial waste. First US Roasting And Packing Plant for Lavazza

Lavazza North America, part of global Italian coffee company Lavazza Group, begins construction of the first roasting and packing plant in the United States. The new plant is slated to open in October 2021 and will serve the US market. The plant is an expansion of the Lavazza Professional facility in West Chester, Pennsylvania, which will integrate existing and new capabilities for Lavazza to produce roasted and ground coffee in the United States, adding 1,000 square meters to the 18,000 square meter facility.
