The ITA - Chicago Office is organizing a trip to Parma, Italy for the Cibus Tec 2016 trade show for U.S. Food Processors to view the latest technology and machinery in food processing and packaging. Cibus Tec, is a biennial event, will be held from October 25-28, 2016. In 2014, Cibus Tec had 1,000 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors from 121 countries, and the show covers sectors including fruit and vegetable processing, dairy, meat, fresh cut, liquid, bakery, confectionery, convenience, and frozen food. The eighteenth edition of LAMIERA hosted by BolognaFiere May 11-14 the 2016 edition registered a 10% increase in the number of visits (compared to the 2014 edition). The show 20,395 visitors, of which 857 were foreign operators. The Italian Trade Agency Mexico City and Chicago offices took leading North American companies to the show, allowing them to take part in the 500 bilateral meetings which were organized between Italian exhibitors and foreign companies. The Italian Machine Tool Technology Award (IMTTA) program asks senior students attending premier North American universities to write theses on contemporary innovations and issues taking place in mechanical engineering-related industries. The aim of the program is to enrich the engineering education advancing knowledge on significant technological issues within the industry for the next generation of engineering professionals. Recent winners of the IMTTA won a two-week trip to Italy and have taken part in certification programs such as those offered by the Polytechnic University of Milan. The
