A subsidiary of Italy-based Sirmax Group said its new plastics recycling facility in Anderson is now operational. SER North America said it plans to bring total employment at the $30 million plant to 40 by the end of the year. Plans for the 124,000-square-foot facility were first announced in July 2019. According to data from the INEGI (National Institute of Statistics and Geography), the manufacturing industry proved to be the most resilient and dynamic sector of Mexico’s economy. Though still below pre-pandemic levels, the monthly indicator of industrial activity has been steadily growing for the past 10 months now.
