On Wednesday, March 30, 2016, a seminar entitled "I3 = Impact. Innovate. Integrate." dedicated to the future of the manufacturing industry and new trends and technological innovations made in Italy.
Italian speakers included Luigi Galdabini, President of UCIMU & CECIMO, At the Crossroads of Performance and Precision , Marco Livelli, CEO, JOBS, Edward W. Vella, President, MARPOSS Corp, Flavio Radice, CEO, PIETRO CARNAGHI, Vladi Parpajola, President, PARPAS, Eugenio Bassan, CEO, SALVAGNINI America

The speeches have suggestive and futuristic themes and in particular:
  • From Macro to Micro: How Going Small Can Provide Bigger Returns,
  • Outer Limits: Manufacturing Technologies Role in Space Travel,
  • Fight AND Flight: How Machine Technology is Keeping the United States Safer,
  • In Manufacturing: Bending Over Backwards Can Be Cool.

Also scheduled is a panel discussion, moderated by Kathleen Kennedy, Publisher, MIT Technology Review, on The Future is Now: Robotics and Additive Manufacturing to be attended by experts such as:
  • Arturo Baroncelli, Director of Business Relations, COMAU,
  • Giorgio Metta, Professor, Italian Institute of Technology, Genoa, Italy,
  • Sarah Webster, Editor Manufacturing & Engineering Magazine, SME,
  • Marco Taisch, Professor, Politecnico di Milano.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Armando Varricchio, Italian Ambassador to the U.S., and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who is visiting the U.S., will speak at the event.

The event is organized by Machines Italia USA, in collaboration with AMT - Association for Manufacturing Technology, DMDII - Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute, SME - Society of Manufacturing Engineers, WBC - World Business Chicago and in partnership with UCIMU, SIRI, Italian association of robotics and automation, AITA, Italian association of additive technologies.
