Italy Invests in the US: Italy's SAT Group Considers Manufacturing in Rensselaer County (NY)

TROY — Rensselaer County will host CEO Aldo Di Leo of SAT Group, an Italian manufacturing company, to discuss the opportunities for the company to expand their operations to the United States by opening a manufacturing operation in Rensselaer County. SAT Group is interested in locating a manufacturing facility that will provide products to GlobalFoundries and other local companies as well as establishing relationships and collaborating research and development with local universities.

On Monday, March 5 (2012), the CEO will visit Rensselaer County to tour potential sites for the company's expansion with officials from the county's Industrial Development Agency and Economic Development office who met representatives of SAT Group at an international semiconductor conference spurring the upcoming meeting.  SAT Group intends to hire an initial 35 employees at its new facility with an expectation to grow to a total of 95 new jobs.

"The prospect of this company opening a manufacturing facility in the United States and especially in Rensselaer County is great news," said Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino. "We in Rensselaer County will continue to be proactive as we seek to help attract the businesses that will create the jobs for our residents, drive our local economy, and grow our tax base lessening the cost burden on the individual taxpayer."
