Machines Italia + Daily Planet And Discovery Channel Canada
Daily Planet, a program produced and distributed by the Discovery Channel Canada network, has asked Machines Italia for assistance in making a series of films, in Italy, on technological research and scientific innovation.
The Daily Planet crew will be in Italy to participate in and film a Robosoft Grand Challenge robotics competition, to be held at the Research Centre on Sea Technologies and Marine Robotics, c/o Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, in Livorno, Italy, on April 29 and 30, 2016.
While in Italy, Daily Planet would then be willing to promote interesting stories about robotics or manufacturing technologies from the 15 Machines Italia sectors. The stories would then be collected into 4-6 minute video segments, aired (television and internet) within a series of episodes of the show.
Interested Italian companies are invited to forward to the attention of toronto [at] machinesitalia.org ( subject: Machines Italia E-newsletter ITA) ( Machines Italia Canada) reports and information about advanced technologies, machinery and innovative processes to be submitted to Daily Planet for the making of the videos.
The Italian companies and stories that will be selected by Daily Planet should then be willing to provide logistical and organizational assistance to the crew (transportation, and/or hospitality, factory and laboratory visits, interviews, etc.).
Daily Planet is the Discovery Channel's third most-watched show, with an audience of 20 million viewers (TV, online). Each episode is aired at least 3 times (TV). The cost of a 30-second spot during Daily Planet is about $1,200. In addition to Canada, the show airs in several countries in Europe, Asia, and Oceania on the filial/franchise Discovery Channel.
