MECAER Takes Off In Canada
Mecaer Aviation Group - MAG is a leading international provider of flight start and control system solutions, landing systems, cabin comfort systems, and aviation services for the helicopter, commercial aviation, and aviation industries, in general. The company employs about six hundred people in various facilities around the world and has hundreds of customers.

In 2000, Mecaer America Inc. opened a facility in Quebec in order to establish a presence in the North American market and get closer to some of its key customers. Mecaer America and its management team have worked to become a systems integrator, building a strong supply chain-in Quebec and internationally-to be recognized in the marketplace as a leading provider of landing system solutions in the following segments: helicopters, trainers, small business, and general aviation.
At the same time, MAG Aviation Inc. was established in the United States, with sites in Philadelphia and Hagerstown, to operate in the market for cabin comfort systems and aviation services for helicopters.

In 2016, with the support of the Québec government and Investissement Québec, Mecaer America embarked on a research and development project by investing $40.4 million in its hub in Laval to create the group's main center in the design and manufacture of airplane and helicopter landing gear.

During a recent visit to Canada, UCIMU's Vincenzo del Monte visited Mecaer in Canada and interviewed Paolo Vercellotti, Director of Finance, for an article on the success of Italian investment in North America. The article will be included in the Canadian Engineering Industry Report.
