Glasstech Mexico celebrates its third edition

Mexico is currently the leading Spanish-speaking economy in terms of GDP, surpassing Spain. This country is also one of the leading markets in glass production at the regional level. As a result, in early 2022 there was a crisis in the production of this material, as it was difficult to meet the high demand from companies that manufacture food, perfumes, beverages and packaging for pharmaceutical products.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), during the first quarter of that year, production in the glass industry manufactured around 5,317 million containers of various weights, representing an annual increase of 7.1%.

Glass sales had an increase of 26.8% compared to 2021, resulting in a total of US$623 million.

Sales of flat glass increased by 29.6% compared to the previous year, due to a strengthening in the automotive and architectural sector.

Sales of container glass also increased 26.3%, mainly due to increased demand for this product in the value-added segment in regions such as the United States, South America and Europe.

The glass industry in Mexico is a sector that continues to grow, so it remains to be expected that 2023 will be a successful year for the glass sector.

For all these reasons, Glasstech Mexico stands as the ideal platform to find business opportunities in the glass industry.

The Citibanamex center in Mexico City, Mexico, will host from 19 to 21 July the third edition of Glasstech Mexico, the meeting point between global suppliers and professionals specializing in the world of glass in Latin America. The event focuses not only on flat glass, but also on hollow/container glass, doors, windows, facades and enclosures.
