CHICAGO, September 10, 2018 - In order to highlight the substantial Italian participation at two major shows opening today in Chicago and to enhance the overall awareness of Italy as a top solution provider to the North American marketplace for advanced manufacturing machinery and technology solutions, the Italian Trade Agency, in partnership with three of Italy’s leading manufacturers associations, is conducting an advertising and promotion campaign at IMTS and is hosting an Italian Pavilion at IAMD. It will thus put an “I”, for Italy, in both shows.
At the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) the Agency will share an information booth with UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE within IMTS’s North Building, Level 2.5 #221005. A video clip illustrating Industry 4.0 in Italy will be screened through IMTS TV in the common spaces at the event, while banners on shuttles between McCormick Place and downtown hotels and other outreach efforts will keep participants to the show focused on the Italian advantage.
Italy will be well represented with over 90 companies exhibiting either directly or indirectly at IMTS and representing the country’s strengths in this area. These manufacturers will display their equipment within a wide range of product category pavilions, including the following ones.
* Metal Cutting, which ranges from machining centers and assembly automation to flexible manufacturing systems and lathes
* Tooling & Workholding Systems, which features jigs, fixtures, cutting tools of all types and related accessories
* Metal Forming & Fabricating and Laser Processes which is home to waterjet, plasma-arc and laser systems, welding equipment, heat treating and more.
Other pavilions at IMTS will also see large numbers of Italian companies illustrating their wears.
At the co-located show, Integrated Automation, Motion & Drives USA (IAMD), which takes place in the East (River side) Hall, the Agency has organized the third edition of the official country pavilion featuring this year eight leading Italian companies. Participants in the show will be assisted by ITA, in collaboration with Federazione ANIE and Assofluid, at booth #134347.
IMTS will also serve as the platform for launching the 2018 edition of the Agency’s magazine, Machines Italia, entitled Manufacturing a fast, flexible and efficient future, produced by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). The magazine will be paired with SME’s publications, reaching a target audience of 60,000 North American manufacturers.
