Bausano Twin Screw Extruders With Multidrive Technology In The United States And Canada
Italy's leading international designer and manufacturer of custom extrusion lines for plastics processing, Bausano, has announced the introduction of its next-generation twin-screw plastic extrusion lines to the U.S. and Canadian markets. With world-renowned "made in Italy" quality and unparalleled technological innovation, Bausano's two revamped product lines-MD Plus and MD Nextmover-are best suited for different types of extrusion, pipes, granules, wood plastic composites (WPC), profiles and materials used in the medical industry.

Bausano's twin-screw extruder lines are distinguished by their unique patented Multidrive drive system, the careful study of the geometry of the interpenetrating and counter-rotating screws, and the newest generations of motors and power analysis tools, which combine to offer high levels of efficiency, durability, reliability and sustainability.
"Our extrusion lines are the result of advanced engineering that combines innovation with more than 70 years of know-how in plastic processing. Our Multidrive system has increased the efficiency and durability of our machinery, undoubtedly setting a new high standard in the extrusion industry for both.

Our approach to the design and development, manufacturing, assembly and testing phases ensures the highest standards of technical and functional quality, and we are very excited to introduce our next-generation twin-screw extruder lines to the U.S. and Canadian markets," said Clement Bausano, vice president of Bausano.

Bausano's Multidrive technology is the result of many years of research and experimentation by the company. With a unique design that substantially reduces stresses on motor shafts, gears and screws by spreading the torque stress over two pairs of motors, Multidrive delivers more power on screws equal to the power delivered to increase precision and reduce energy consumption. Compared with conventional systems, Multidrive's innovative motion distribution also reduces the probability of failure due to excessive stress on mechanical components, ensuring a longer average machine life. The motors are managed by a single static frequency converter, a tool that can ensure constant rotation and perfect synchronism without the use of additional devices.

The MD Nextmover line features a brand new Digital Extruder Control 4.0 system with a capacitive, multi-touch widescreen display. It performs continuous system screening by processing real-time reports and graphs to easily and accurately analyze extrusion parameters and consumption. MD Nextmover also includes an innovative Smart Energy System for non-contact cylinder heating. Using an alternating electromagnetic field, the new system offers significant wear reduction and energy savings of up to 35 percent.
Both twin-screw lines also feature special multistage thrust bearings designed to triple the dynamic load and enable the extruders to handle high production volumes. For smaller lines, Bausano has developed Multidrive 2x2, which features a single pair of motors to reduce footprint and optimize gearbox operation.
