Honda Canada Celebrates 25th Anniversary
Honda, the first Japanese automaker to open a manufacturing plant in Canada, is celebrating 25 years of operations in the country in 2015.

In 1986 the plant in Alliston, Ontario, was, in fact, opened, where the Accord was assembled. In 1988, a second plant opened its doors, also in Alliston, for the historic Odyssey minivan, which was followed in 2008 by another production investment of $154 million (€115 million) for an engine plant.

Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) employs 4,000 people and produces 390,000 vehicles (Honda Civic Sedan, Si and Coupe, CR-V) sold in Canada, the U.S. and other international markets at its two plants in Alliston.
