Plastimagen Mexico 2022 was inaugurated with the presence of industry representatives from 23 countries. The exhibition is the largest trade fair in Latin America, the first event of the sector worldwide and is among the five most important in the world. Plastimagen 2022 has more than 480 companies from 23 countries and 1,000 brands, with 34,000 square meters and 679 tons of machinery on display. Plastimagen has 13 international pavilions with the presence of 23 countries: Italy, Germany, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czechoslovakia, China, Denmark, Spain, United States, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey. At the same time, the Circular Economy Summit, promoted under the slogan "Greener than ever", is being held. On this occasion, the company Baskem Idesa won the Plastimagen 2022 Award, for its PCR resin SOLUTION for high performance applications and FDA project, the first PCR resin produced in Mexico for food contact applications. Plastimagen wants to be a "plastic waste free" fair, thanks to the ONAM Initiative, which will be the organization in charge of collecting all plastic waste from the fair, which will be sent to a recycling plant to incorporate it back into the production chain, i.e., it will be the first plastic waste free exhibition. So far, 6 tons have been collected.
