Mexico ranks first in refrigerator production
Among the many examples of Mexico's success in the positioning and arrival of new industries are the country's leading positions in the production of household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, gas stoves, heaters, vacuum cleaners, among others that are marketed internationally.

In the same rank is the manufacture of compression refrigerators, gas stoves and electric water heaters, while in fourth place is the production of vacuum cleaners.

All household appliances are distributed and marketed by international companies that have established themselves in the country because they have found optimal conditions for their proper development and production, Clelac added that the production of these appliances ranks fifth worldwide.

Currently, the industry in Mexico has a value of around 15,000 million dollars each year, and in 2022 investments of more than 1,150 million dollars were generated.

"It can be qualified as a mature sector, with good growth prospects. Many companies are making efforts to continue projecting Mexico as a spearhead in this sector, as it is a major item in the national economy, behind the automotive sector, power generation and metal products," said Yoelle Rojas, director of the Cluster.

Across the country there are an average of 3,500 companies related to the home appliance industry, established in Nuevo León, Mexico City, Jalisco, Chihuahua, Baja California, Querétaro and Guanajuato.

The investment made by these companies in 2022 was considered a record, and there are positive prospects for 2023. The Cluster highlighted the recent investments in new plants, expansions and development of companies such as Samsung, Bosch, Hisense and Whirlpool.
