PA S.p.A., an Italian company that manufactures compressed air and high-pressure accessories, will open its first office in the United States this fall. The United States is the company's largest market. The location of the subsidiary will not be in a large city on the East Coast or the West Coast. Instead, it will be in Bloomington in the suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

"We chose Minnesota not only because of its proximity to our customers, but also because we felt that, being a heavily industrialized area, it could offer a wide range of specialized suppliers and a highly skilled workforce," said Stefania Benetti, CEO of PA SpA , in a statement. "Our goal is to replicate the superior quality for which we are known, in a completely different environment. We believe Minnesota will enable us to achieve this goal. Also, being an international hub and a very dynamic area, we look forward to moving here."

To set up its North American headquarters, which will have a staff of 12, the company has acquired a 65,000-square-foot industrial building at 1600 92nd Street West in Bloomington.
