LEITNER Completes The New Cablebús Line 2 In Mexico City
LEITNER, an Italian based world leader in ropeways, has completed the construction of line 2 of the Cablebús "Constitución 1917-Santa Marta", a cable car service that will serve the Iztapalapa district, which is an area with a high population density in central-eastern Mexico City. The project includes over 300 cabins with 10 seats, and a network of 10.6 km and seven stations. Initially the new cable car line will operate free of charge to allow the riders to familiarize with it.  Fares will be introduced later on once the ridership targets have been achieved.

The company had previously built the Mexicable line in the Ecatepec area, in the second half of 2021. A new tender is expected for the construction of Line 3 of the Mexico City Cablebús. LEITNER is part of the High Technology Industries (HTI) Group, which also manufactures snow groomers and tracked utility vehicles (PRINOTH), wind turbines (LEITWIND) and snow making systems (DEMACLENKO). This makes it the only supplier able to deliver a full range of winter technology.
